„Artfilms Digital“ data base


To help maintain the education process going forward during the quarantine, Vilnius Academy of Arts (VAA) library expands digital resources and provides you as much digital content as possible.

We remind you that many library services are available online 24/7!
 
Currently, VAA community has temporary access to two new databases:

„Artfilms Digital“ until March 31st, 2020. It's created by contemporary art film producer and distributor „Contemporary Arts Media“, based in Melbourne (Australia).  The collection of documentaries, masterclasses, educational and art films, and interviews has over 1400 items.

„Art and Art History Collection“ until May 16th, 2020. It's 20th and 21st centuries art criticism and art history e-book collection from Duke University Press based in Durham (USA, North Carolina). The collection contains over 170 titles.

Use your ALEPH name and password as login information: in the field „Vartotojas“– student’s code in the information system, „Slaptažodis“ – last four digits of your ID number

Here are some helpful open access links and some databases that opened their contents for free use to help maintain education as unaffected as possible during the quarantine:

Berliner Philharmoniker's Digital Concert Hall - Berlin Philharmonie concerts and films in the Digital Concert Hall. Free registration.

On the Boards.tv - modern artists' performances you can rent for 48 hours. After creating your account (how-to) select a performance to rent (Purchase-Rent-Checkout-Order), enter your account info and don't forget promo code ARTATHOME20.

Art Appreciation - Art Appreciation thoroughly investigates how quality is determined and created by artists to evaluate and appreciate art on a deeper level. This course, based on Christopher Gildow’s Art Appreciation, with additional open resources, was developed by Wendy Riley from Columbia Basin College with contributing work from Lumen Learning. 

DART-Europe - global access to European research theses. 

DOAB (Directory of Open Access Books) - various reviewed art and science books. 

DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) - various reviewed art and science journals and articles. 

Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) - global electronic theses and dissertations database. 

OAPEN (Open Access Publishing in European Networks) - various reviewed art and science books. 

Open Access Theses and Dissertations (OATD) - an online resource for finding open access graduate theses and dissertations published around the world. 

Open Textbook Library - various reviewed art and science textbooks. 

Open Research Library - art, social and humanitarian sciences books. 

OpenDOAR - a global directory of Open Access repositories and their policies. 

Project Gutenberg - over 60 000 free ebooks on various topics. 

Project MUSE - various reviewed art and science books and journals.

Wiley - Course material for architecture and design teachers (individual requests and registration).
