Barbora Gediminaitė | Schemes 29/9/2020 – 10/10/2020

Schemes are reflections on Islamic architectural contexts actualized within the doctoral artistic research at Vilnius Academy of Arts – sketches of ritual space construction. The artistic research discloses the fluidity of Islamic space and it is the prayer carpet that becomes the sociocultural code to reveal the meanings of human body, architecture, geography. The gallery spaces  communicate layers of prayer carpet spacialities. Ritual purity, gender segregation and mode of life spatialities are schematically unveiling the narrative of cultural mistake.
