Martijn Verhoeven studied Art History and Archeology at Leiden University and Curatorial Studies at the Curatorial Training Programme of De Appel Amsterdam. At the moment he is lecturer of Art History at the Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague, The Netherlands.

Martijn Verhoeven curated shows in Sarajevo, Pula, Berlin, The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Recently he was a guest tutor at Chelsea School of Art, London; Reykjavik School of Visual Arts, Reykjavik; University of Ostrava, Czech Republic; Central Saint Martins College of Art, London; Athens School of Fine Arts.
