Please note that the main language of instruction at VAA is Lithuanian. Some courses will be taught entirely in English, yet others will be delivered by means of individual tutorials in English.  

Application deadlines

State-funded international students:

If you are an EU (EEE) citizen, a foreign citizen holding a permanent residency of the Republic of Lithuania or a Lithuanian national residing abroad, and wish to apply for a state-funded place, you must submit an online application via the centralised admissions system, which opens on the 1st of June. For more information, eligibility and requirements for Holders of Foreign Qualifications, please refer to LAMA BPO.     
 
Fee-paying international students:

Application opens - 1st of February
Application deadline - 15th of June

Application documents:

• Online application;
• Portfolio (personal website, social network account, link to the Google drive or any other online platform with external access);
• Notarized copy of the High School Leaving Certificate or comparable qualification in the original language with the certified translation to English or Lithuanian;
• Certificate of Academic Recognition from the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education;
• Copy of ID or passport;
• English Language Certificate (CEFR - B2, IELTS -5.5, TOEFL -75) or any other proof of English Language proficiency;
• Proof of payment of the 100 Euro non-refundable application fee (copy of the bank transfer). Payment requisites can be found in Fees and funding section.

Application deadlines

State-funded international students:

Holders of foreign BA-level qualifications may be admitted to state-funded MA studies at Vilnius Academy of Arts, if they are:

• Citizens of the Republic of Lithuania, EU member states members or EEA countries;
• Citizens of non-EU or EEA countries or the stateless, holding a permanent residency of the Republic of Lithuania;
• Persons of Lithuanian origin, who are able to prove their Lithuanian origin.
   

Important: in order to apply for a state-funded place, every applicant must take entrance exams at the Academy. Preliminary date of the exam - 8th of July. Exams can be arranged remotely for international applicants. More information will be provided after the submission of the application. Those, who cannot attend the exam, will not qualify for a state-funded place and can only apply as a fee-paying applicant (no exceptions are granted).

• Statement of the main artistic objectives and concepts for the final MA project and thesis
• Official legalized documents of previous education - Bachelor degree diploma and its supplement (Transcript of Records / Mark Sheet) in the original language and the certified translation to English or Lithuanian.
• Certificate of Academic Recognition from the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education;
• Copy of ID or passport;
• English Language Certificate (CEFR - B2, IELTS -5.5, TOEFL -75) or any other proof of English Language proficiency;
