Students of Applied sculpture specialisation gain theoretical and practical essentials of artistic creation. They get introduced to 3D technology, software; they learn how to work with different technical means. They gain skills of information retrieval, synthesis and analysis; they are able to communicate professionally, to present the idea attractively and visually; they develop their creative individuality by creating small-sized sculpture, interior, exterior and spatial objects. They learn processing technologies of clay, plaster, wood, metal, granite and other materials used in sculpture; they carry out the experiments of ephemeral art; get introduced to renovation principles of granite and brick monuments; gain essentials of entrepreneurship and law. During study process there is encouraged mobility of students and academic staff and upgrade of lecturers’ qualification. Relations are developed with potential employers, social stakeholders, alumni, acknowledged artists who participate in performing and renewing the study programme of applied sculpture. The study programme of applied sculpture specialisation develops creative independence, ethic values of an artist and critical thinking. An ability to generate ideas, to create and practical skills give an opportunity to get spiritual satisfaction and incomes from professional activity.
Career opportunities
Specialists of applied sculpture work individually, set up the creative sculpture studios, provide services of a sculptor and develop small business in the region or work in the companies as consultants, creators of sculptural elements, performers of unique forms. They can participate in the projects of visual art and restoration programmes of regional culture monuments. Graduates can continue further MA studies.
