This programme is to educate a professional graphic artist who is able to evaluate national and world art processes and actively and distinctively take part in them. The programme is to prepare a creator, independently solving artistic problems, analytically thinking and reflecting. Graduates will gain research work basis that enable graduates to consciously form the field of creative research, feel and perceive different contexts, purposefully combine and use traditional and contemporary graphics technologies in individual creation and professional activity. The programme is to prepare graduates for the second study cycle master's studies.

Graduates can work as illustrators, book artists in publishing houses, design, press and advertising agencies as creative staff, artistic editors and performers, participate and organize artistic projects, curate exhibitions, set up a private art business, engage in the individual creative activity, take part in Lithuanian and international art exhibitions and contests. They can continue scientific and creative activity while studying in art master's studies and after having completed a special pedagogical course graduates can work as fine arts or technologies teachers at schools and private educational institutions.
Graduates can: take part in international creative projects, curate exhibitions and projects, work in publishing houses, set up private art business, continue education in master's studies. Professional qualification enables graduates to represent themselves and their state in national and foreign exhibitions, art fairs and contests. A graphics bachelor is a creative, critically thinking, feeling and reflecting a personality who has a moulding basis of research work, is able independently, distinctively and purposefully create relevant contemporary graphics art using traditional and/or latest technologies. It is a creator who can present and evaluate his creation and the creation of the others in national and international contexts. It is a socially responsible personality who has universal inter-disciplinary ability, moulding skills necessary for life- long learning, clear value system and broad cultural horizons.
Graphics bachelor study programme is to educate a universal graphics artist, an active participant of contemporary art world, who is able to responsibly continue his studies, deepen his knowledge in chosen area, create traditional and/or conceptual graphics art; fostering the best graphics and book art traditions create new quality, boldly experiment in artistic activity; developed an artist who is creative, communicative, able to evaluate, understand, apply and share the knowledge and skills with specialists and those interested in chosen area. The basis of the bachelor studies is an interdisciplinary course which is focused, thorough and consistently becoming more sophisticated mastery of graphic technologies and book art basics while performing artistic tasks and individual artistic projects, development of academic and artistic drawing skills, generation of ideas, search for individual plastic language and analysis of graphic context.
While studying in graphics bachelor students get thoroughly acquainted with traditional technologies of graphics: lithography, letter press printing (woodcut, linocut), intaglio printing (etching), screen printing and the new ones: digital printing, photopolymer engravings, offset lithography. Simultaneously the students learn the basis of typographic and calligraphic, the principles of publication design, illustration, integrated book design, binding and book-object. During the first four semesters the students accumulate basic technological knowledge, foster special and general abilities. After four semesters the students choose further, more specialized study field: print or book art. The 5th-8th semesters are devoted to search for individual expression, intensive creative work and formation of personality. Graphics study programme is tailored to make students' experience personally meaningful and this meaning would motivate their development. Students are educated to be active study programme creators and participants. During all the studies additionally to compulsory speciality subjects they choose appropriate optional fine arts field and general university subjects; students are stimulated to go to study and improve their knowledge in other European higher art education institutions and universities under Erasmus and Nord Plus programmes and after returning share gained experience with fellow students and lecturers. The study programme consists of: general compulsory university studies subjects (art history and theory, philosophy and etc..), study field compulsory subjects (visual expression, print, book art, graphics projects and etc..) and optional theoretical and study field subjects. Additional development of specialization subjects and general competences in a formal way is promoted (choosing subjects of art field or other study fields).
