From February 5th to February 15th Vilnius Academy of Arts Kaunas Faculty, Department of Graphic Design had a pleasure to meet Gianluca Camillini — a professor of Graphic Design from Free University of Bozen/Bolzano (Italy). During the visit, students were involved into invigorating and provocative visual experiments.
The workshop lead by the tutor on a topic of Visual Communication and Graphic Design / Communicating (Almost) the Same Thing helped students to understand the difficulties of the context of information, visual language and meaning, solve the problems of the chain of graphic designer, content and end user. The ten day workshop took a complex overview of several fields of graphic design from logo to printed media design and put a new, unconventional perspective to it.
This visit was a result of the consistent collaboration between VAA Kaunas Faculty, Department of Graphic Design and several Italy-based universities of art and design, also developed during NewIDeA international design workshops held in VAA Nida Art Colony every September already for five years in a row.
This mobility was funded by the Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science support for incoming teachers to institutions for higher education.
