This year, the 500th anniversary of the Reformation is celebrated in many Christian countries all over the world, including Lithuania. This important event was also commemorated at the Klaipėda Faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts on November 7th, 2017.

Everyone interested in the event were invited to the Klaipėda Faculty of Vilnius Academy of Arts, where the facsimile of the first Lithuanian book - "Catechism“ of Martynas Mažvydas – was presented. Author of the facsimile is Kamile Kalibataite. The facsimile was kindly lent for the faculty by the main library of Vilnius Academy of Arts.

There was also a disscusion held about the impact of the Church reform on various areas of our lives. The Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Klaipeda dr. Arunas Baublys made an interesting presentation about cultural and social aspects of the Reformation in Klaipėda.

Ruta Kuodiene, the head of the library of Vilnius Academy of Arts and her colleagues also participated in the event.
